NEGATIVITY

Negativity. It's something we all encounter every day. There is always someone with a shitty attitude, a crabby cashier, a ragey driver, a grumpy boss. And sometimes we just wake up on the wrong side of the bed.

I know I do--often.

But the thing is, it is in our control to scram that shit right out of our day. Of course, some days it takes more effort than others, but it can be done.

I find that the more time I spend on Social Media, the worse it gets. There is always someone stirring up some drama, be it big or small, misery loves company. I however, hate that. I am guilty of shoving negative thoughts down my own throat. The self loathing, doubt, stress, loneliness, sadness, and general grumps. I so do not like being dragged down because someone said something to somebody and now everybody needs to whip out the torches and burn that shit down.

Blah. Blah. Blah. My social tribe mentality went the way of my Aqua Net. I barely gave a crap about that when I was a teenager. As a grown woman, I so do not have the time or energy.

One of my favorite de-stressors is Pinterest. It's also the best time-zapping, mind-numbing, motivation-sucking piece of shit ever, but it does help me just... chillax sometimes. My brain barely has to be plugged in to enjoy. I love finding little uplifting quotes. That, and cupcake recipes and pictures of random pink things, but quotes. The quotes. I have mini epiphanies when I find a good one, and you know, sometimes, that's all you need. A teeny, tiny little epiphany to set you back on track.

These are some of my favorites. We'll call it the good shit Greatest Hits.
Bye for now!
HAVE A GREAT, WONDERFUL, AMAZING, SUNSHINEY, KICK ASS kind of day.
XO

Love this post! You have a way of cutting to the chase. Here's one I use all the time. "Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." I don't know who said it, but it motivates me on days when I'm feeling overwhelmed.
