Happy New year!
well, here we are at the end of the year. what a hellova year it's been!
trying to put into words how insane it's been is nearly impossible. it's been a whirlwind of activity, books coming out, books being written, and i'm revved up and ready to do it all over again next year.
but... times they are a changin'.
earlier this month, i made the decision to leave mayhem publishing. i have other avenues i want to take and things I want to discover. and although i am glad i had the opportunity to work with such a talented bunch of ladies, it's time to move on.
with that being said, that decision puts into motion a ton of changes. i have a lot planned, and some very exciting projects on the way for 2014. the first being a new look for the jayne series. i have asked a very dear friend and amazingly talented designer to work with me on this project, and i can't even tell you how stoked i am. i really can't wait to share it with you guys, and as soon as i can, i will! i am so looking forward to an overhaul, and with a new team jayne at the helm, i think it's going to ROCK!
secondly, these changes will push the release of the second book in the jayne series back a month. i promise i will make it worth the wait. the changes will be fabulous and i'm really excited about the second book!.
by march, see jayne play will be available in print, as well as other ebook formats. i will be sure to keep you updated if that is something you're interested in, keep an eye out for that announcement.
as far as other projects, i will be working on the third jayne book-- tentatively slated for a june/july release. i am also going to start edits and cover design for my NaNoWriMo novel, and hope to have that out by the end of summer. i am really excited about that project. a few characters that some of you have already be introduced to will be a part of this. Cash will have his own book, and so will tyson, my naughty plumber from the Taste of the Forbidden anthology. a few bossy ladies insisted that they needed more of him, so more of him you will get! there will be a few books in the series, all geared around the lives of five brothers. hints... blue collar, alpha, hunky boys. are you in?
so, lots of exciting things going on... and a goal of four books to be published by the end of 2014 (along with a possible Valentine anthology)
i'd also like to let all my southern california readers know about a fantastic author/book signing event coming up in march at universal city walk. there are tons of great authors, and i'm super honored to be participating as well! they have some really fun things planned, so if interested, sign up soon! (links in events)
i just want to thank all of you for the support and love you've shown and tell you how very much i appreciate your readership! if it weren't for you, i wouldn't be doing this. thank you for giving me a reason to keep on writing!
happy new year, and i hope that 2014 is the year of your dreams!
all my loves,
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!
I hope you are all enjoying the time with your family and having a wonderful holiday!
There are so many exciting things coming in 2014 and I can't wait to share them all with you! For now, however, I will leave you with this tiny gift. A small teaser for the second book in the Jayne series!
ENJOY! Happy Holidays!

“You mind locking up the diner tonight, honey?”
I peeled my eyes off the television and smiled over at Jackson. I watched carefully as he hiked his jeans over his thighs and admired the view of his ass in his boxers.
“No problem. Should I go over now?”
Shaking his head, he pulled his shirt over his head, and then leaned over to kiss me on the top of the head. “Nah. They’ll be fine for now. Dinner is almost over, and it’ll take them about an hour to clean up. Head over around eleven.”
I nodded and watched as he pulled a single key off his key ring and tossed it on the tiny tabletop near the window.
“I’ll see you around midnight.”
I gave him a wiggle of my fingers and eye-balled the silver key. Trust. He trusted me, someone that was pretty much a perfect stranger, with everything he had. It gutted me. He deserved better than some emotionally battered old hooker. He deserved someone that could love him and give him what he really needed—commitment. I couldn’t. Wouldn’t.
But trust. It was something so foreign and indistinguishable to me. I was pretty sure no one had ever trusted me, and with good reason. I was a chiseler and a shyster. I was the worst kind of woman, and I’d swept into the poor guy’s life like a serpent at a feast.
I was disgusted.
But that trust… I trusted him, too. Completely. I knew down deep in my soul that Jackson would never betray me. He’d never lie, and he’d never deliberately hurt me. He was different. I’d never had cause to trust someone so totally without caution. Even Flynn. Even as I told him I loved him, I had that nagging feeling in the back of my heart that I should run, flee, get the fuck out.
And boy was I right on the ball.
