How does your writing impact your inner life?

Writing for me is my escape from reality. The way it impacts me is that it gives me a form stress relief. I think it's helped me center things and become more focused. It has definitely been positive.

How do you hope your books affect your readers?

Has anyone ever told you your book changed their life? If so, how?

I don't think anyone worded it in such a way, but a story I wrote several years ago resonated with a lot of people, and at first it really surprised me. It was a fanfiction story, and at first, I was afraid to share it. I'd sat on the idea for almost two years before I finally let it loose.

I thought I was going to get massive slack for taking it in the directions I did. First of all, it was a middle aged couple with older children and dealt with some sensitive subjects, such as child death, erectile dysfunction, and emotional cheating. It was basically the story of a family falling apart and putting themselves back together again.

The response to it was shocking. So many readers contacted me privately, telling me how close to their lives the story was. The things the couple had to go through and deal with were familiar, and many of these woman said that after reading, they took another look at their relationships, and had decided to make changes for the better. Like it was a wake up call.

I was floored. And honored. I mean, I've read books that have made me take another look at my own life, so to write something that touched people so emotionally was a gift to me. Every one of those readers touched something in my heart, the same way my story touched them.  I'm pretty sure that has been the highlight of being a writer thus far. That's an honor I hold dear to this day.

I LOVE visiting your site. It's a bit of a mind f**k that you write these stories and they impact other people's lives.
