Welcome to another week of Romance Weekly! This week our questions are from Fiona Riplee 1.Does humor help or hinder you in your creative process?
2.What is a favorite go-to book or movie you use to unblock a problem in your writing?I don't have any one particular book, but if I'm really in a jam, I'll grab something light and smutty to clear my brain, something that doesn't require a lot of thought or effort. Same for movies. Joe Dirt is my happy place movie. It will cure any shitty day, blast any stress out of my system, and I'm usually good to go after watching it. You need positive reinforcement, who better that Joe Dirt to show you the way. You just gotta keep on keepin' on. 3.What’s the most inspiring book you’ve read this week or month that’s generated a new idea?I am currently reading Rain Shadow book 2 by Tess Oliver. I finished the first about two weeks ago and fell in love with the characters. This book is gripping, and it's a series, so that's a plus! Lots more to come! Although it hasn't generated any ideas, it has inspired me. She is a really gifted writer, and I am inspired by her style. It's encouraged me to dig a little deeper with my own writing to create vivid worlds the way she's done. Thanks for joining us this week! Please follow the hop. Fiona Riplee is up next ! LOL. I love that image about sitting on the sofa and farting. Classic.

A good read can often be more inspiring than the most detailed of technique books. After all, that's why we got into this business, right? Because we love stories.

Loved the humor in your posts and know it must shine in your work. I'll have to check out Tess's book. Thanks for the sofa/farting laugh. Nice post.

Twelve is a great age for humor. Laughs come from the sheer stupidity of situations and from some things that are just plain silly. When we start censoring our humor to make it agreeable to everyone, it loses its punch.
