Today's question comes from the talented Victoria Barbour and she'd like us to share our dream cast for our current WIP or book. If you've come over from Dani Jace, welcome! If you're starting here, head on back and see what she's up to! http://www.danijace.com Since I already have my dream cast posted for The Jayne Series (you can find that here) I decided to share my cast of my current work, which at this time is titled Snapdragon. I originally posted this story back in 2011 online, and have always wanted to rewrite and publish it, so that's where I am now--rewriting. Summary: Her husband, her children and her home. These were the things Jenna Grainger lived for. Every breath she took was for the live she’d built for the last twenty years. What does a woman do when she stands to lose it all? She fights with all she has and comes to find that she’s much stronger than she ever gave herself credit for. And here's my cast--The Grainger family. ![]() The hardest part of trying to cast characters is finding all the atributes I see while writing. I already have them imagined in my head, and sometimes I find a muse (Stephen Amell, for example for Vince) but with this family, they've always been really vivid and individual. Trying to find older characters is a challenge as well. These are normal folks. They're not super models. There's no six-pack abs or heaving breasts for these characters. There's paunchy tummies and crow's feet and cellulite. These glamourous people we find on and around the internet, sometimes it's hard to find that middle ground. I mean, can there be something in between Brad Pitt and the fat guy with his butt crack showing and his belly over belt line from the line at Walmart? GEEZ. But I think these two work fine. Royal is a fine man, still handsome even if he's a little rough around the edges. Jenna is a mom through and through, and I think this gal looks like someone you sit next to at the softball games and invite over for play time. She might be the one you secretly wish would fall into a vat of donuts and explode, but hey, she works. So there ya have it! This was fun, and I can't wait to explore what the other writers have to share this week! Can't wait to share Snapdragon with you all... one of these days soon!! The next stop on the hop is Miss Jo Richardson, the amazing author of the newly released Cookie Cutter (which I am currently reading and LOVING of course!) Stop over and give her some sugar! http://jrrichardsonfics.weebly.com/ Xo

It is hard to find "normal" folks on the internet. But I don't write über-beautiful main characters either. Good looking, but not drop-everything-and-drool kinds of folks. Great post. I was totally imagining pushing a friend in a vat of Krispy Kremes. Or jumping in after her to share!

"Push into a vat of donuts" - funny! I love "normal" characters. I want to be able to meet my heroes at the grocery store!
